Making It With Allie

It's Spring Break in these parts and I am toiling away at Miss AuBrynne's Easter dress.
She's asked for fluttery.  Which of course means it's all cut on the bias and 3x fullness.
Ahhh. I love the five year old imagination!
I should have it next week for you all!

Now, it's time for the
Making It With Allie Party!
What have you got this week?
I am anxious to see!

Making It With Allie - Tooth Fairy

Hello Friends!

The Tooth Fairy is visiting our house tonight!
A few days ago, I noticed that Miss AuBrynne's bottom teeth were looking a little askew.
Upon closer inspection, it appeared that she had a very loose tooth.
Like within a week, this little thing was coming out.
And the one next to it was not far behind.
I had a little moment right about this moment:
She's barely 5 years old!! Babies can't loose baby teeth... lol

So, I started looking for fun Tooth Fairy ideas to do when the teeth started to come out.
I found really sweet ideas on Pinterest.
And decided that we will be doing a little tooth chart/wall hanging.
Yesterday, AuBrynne and I picked out some cute fabrics she liked for it.
I thought I had at least 3 days to get the thing together, so I finished up another project before I'd start this...
WELL.
My chronic procrastination got me this time!
We were out running errands this afternoon, when a VERY excited voice exclaimed,
"Mom!! Mom!! My tooth came out!"
I get to the light and have a look at her and she has plucked this thing out and she's proud of herself.
Good job, AuBrynne!  Now we wait for the next one...
So, we have dinner and she escapes to her room to read.
I start ironing fabrics to make her Tooth Fairy Chart...
She comes out and says,
"Mom! The other tooth came out... All by itself!"
Yeah.
So we have a little talk about how we can't go plucking all our teeth out...
I think she gets it now.
However, the family keeps telling me that she's gonna yank them all out and then ask for a check...
We shall see.
When the swelling calmed down, you can see that both of those teeth are totally broken through
and coming in at the same time.
But the little toothy-lispy-talk now is SO cute!

I used pink heat transfer  for the chart.

Here is the tooth chart, if anyone would like to use it:
Or email me if you would like a digital cut file.
I can gladly email it to you!

Making It With Allie - Lucky Girl

I have a Lucky charm every day.
Not just on St. Patrick's Day.
Her name is AuBrynne.

Yesterday, when AuBrynne and I sad down to decide what her  St. Patrick's Day outfit should be,
she had some pretty specific ideas, and I knew JUST what to put on her shirt!
She wanted a sporty but girly "lucky" dress.

So, I whipped out my finicky Silhouette, fabrics and serger.
And we threw this little number together.

I used three types of heat transfer for the sporty graphic.
And finally, I applied some Orange Flocked Heat Transfer

Ok, I just had to put this little photo in... they don't call it the Windy City for nothing!
The wind kept blowing  her hair ALL over the place...

I think it turned out pretty cute. She likes it.
I think I might need one for myself.
It should be pretty easy, now that the cut file is done.
If anybody would like the cut file, leave me a note and I can send it to you!

Now, it's time for the

Making It With Allie - Thank Yous and Word Art

Hello Friends!
I first want to say thank you to everyone who took a moment to leave me very sweet notes of condolences last week.  It was very much appreciated.

A while back, I off-handedly mentioned; within ear-shot of my five year old, Miss AuBrynne, that I was thinking of re-doing her bedroom decor. I need to have my personal filter level raised, because Miss AuBrynne has been asking me ever since, when we could start.
Well, last week, I decided I might be able to get her, now guilt inspiring questions to slow down if I went ahead and painted the wall.
Ha! Right.
Anyways, I decided to let Miss AuBrynne pick the colors in her room entirely.
Actually, I told her she could have control of how the whole room gets decorated.
She took this task, completely seriously and chose some REALLY bright colors.
I debated over-ruling her choices, but decided that I could re-paint if it was truly terrible.
Well, I am completely impressed with the colors she chose and on which walls each went.
I think she might have a knack for this color thing!
Anyways, I am not going to reveal the colors just yet. Mostly because, being the procrastinator I am, I keep putting off taking pictures until it is night time and they just aren't great.
BUT! I did complete a piece of wall art that Miss AuBrynne has requested.
She has requested a few VERY specific things to complete her room.
I made a piece of word art in the style of the old New York Subway Signage.
I went through a bunch of some very fun photos that I have of Miss AuBrynne all over the island of Kauai, the place she calls "Ahhh...Home"
I used Lime green Canvas in the 9oz weight and then some really cool Pearl Heat Transfer.
The letters actually look like the Mother of Pearl you find all of the place in Hawaii.

Miss AuBrynne told me that she thinks her word art is Perfect. And to get started on her Surf Board, Hula Girl, Grass Skirt bed-skirt, wall decals and Quilt for her bed.
Nothing like a list, right??

So, what do you all think?

Now, it's time for the
